Whoever visiting Wat Tha Ka Rong can hardly believe that this temple is an old one since Ayutthaya period and had been abandoned after the fall of Ayutthaya before it was restored and has become one of the most visited temples of Ayutthaya.
Luang Pho Yim or Phra Phuttha Ratana Mongkhon (the Smiling Buddha Image), housed inside the main hall, is a sacred Buddha image that receives high respect. Inside, there are many other statues for believers to worship. This temple is like a new temple that is built for promoting tourism of the province.
By Chao Phraya River, there is the Ancient City Floating Market (Talat Nam Krung Kao), which is opened everyday. There will be a great number of shops on weekends and holidays. Visitors can buy delicious snacks, foods and beverages and find some nice spots to eat and feed fish in the river. This floating market is also the place where visitors can buy a boat trip to visit other temples and places in Ayutthaya.
Opening Hours: The Floating Market is opened everyday from 10:00 to 16:00, but all the shops will be opened on weekends and holidays.
