The best and most classic way to travel around the Ayutthaya city island is cycling. There are many bicycle rental shops on the city island, and a big one near the train station. The rental rate is around 50 baht per bicycle per day for visitors who want to take a one day trip. If you want to take a multiple day-trip, you can rent a bicycle from the guesthouse where you stay.

Getting a bicycle, you can choose where you want to go. The roads are in good conditions and are connected to one another. However, you need be careful about the cars because you are sharing the roads with other vehicles, especially in the afternoon of a weekday, around schools and academic institutes were there are many cars.

The most popular routes are the routes to archaic sites such as Mahathat Temple, Rat Burana Temple, Phra Ram Temple, Phra Si Sanphet Temple and Lokaya Sutharam Temple; or you can add museums such as Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, Chantharakasem Palace, National Art Gallery and Ayutthaya Historical Center to your trip in order to get knowledge and appreciate the retrospective ambience of this ancient city.
