Sleeping Buddha Satue Temple or, in short, Satue Temple, is located in Tha Luang Sub-district, Tha Ruea District. The temple was built in B.E. 2413 (A.D. 1870) in the reign of King Rama V. His Royal Highness Somdet Phraphuthachan (To Phromrangsi), the Royal Patriarch at that time,  ordered the construction of the Grand Sleeping Buddha Image that is 25 wa (around 50 meters) long, 4 wa 2 sok (around 10 meters) wide and 8 wa (around 16 meters) tall. The Buddha image is placed by a side of Pa Sak River around the birthplace of the Royal Patriarch in order to commemorate that His Royal Highness were born there.

The record of the history of Satue Temple is as follows.

His Royal Highness Somdet Phraphuthachan To Phromrangsi was born in the reign of King Rama I in Kai Chon Village, Tha Luang Sub-district, Tha Ruea District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, on 17^th April B.E. 2331 (A.D. 1788) or Minor Era 1150. His Royal Highness’ mother was Ngut, maternal grandfather was Phon and maternal grandmother was La. At young age, when his mother moved from his maternal grandmother’s house in Chai Yo District, Ang Thong Province to Bang Khen Phrom Sub-district, His Royal Highness became a disciple of Chao Khen Aranyik, the Abbot of Intharawihan Temple, Bang Khen Phrom, to learn alphabets. At the age of 12 years old, His Royal Highness ordained as a novice at Intharawihan Temple. At the age of 21 years old, in B.E. 2351 (A.D.1808), His Majesty King Rama I allowed His Royal Highness to ordain to be a royal novice at the Royal Chapel of Emerald Buddha, with His Royal Highness Ratchayanasangwon Suk, the Royal Patriarch back then, being the Preceptor. His Royal Highness was given ‘Phromrangsi’ name. In B.E. 2413 (A.D. 1870) His Royal Highness came to build a masonry and concrete sleeping Buddha image by a side of Pa Sak River, at his birthplace, which is now the area of Satue Temple, Tha Luang Sub-district, Tha Ruea District, Ayutthaya Province. This sleeping Buddha image is 25 wa (around 50 meters) long, 4 wa 2 sok (around 10 meters) wide and 8 wa (around 16 meters) tall.

His Royal Highness passed away in the reign of King Rama V on Saturday, 2^nd night of the waning moon in the eight month, year of monkey, minor era 1234 or 22^nd June B.E. 2415 (A.D. 1872) at 24:00, in the main pavilion of Bang Kuhn Phrom  or Intharawihan Temple, at the age of 84 years and total 64 years in monkshood.

There are many routes that lead to Satue Temple. You can drive directly to the temple and park the car at the temple, or approach the temple through Kai Chon Temple and walk across Bun Bridge, or use another bridge at the ridge of Rama VI Dam. To cross bridges requires you to walk because you cannot drive vehicles over the bridge. The bridge at the ridge of Rama VI Dam  will make you walk farther before passing by Kai Chon Temple.
